During his official trip to the Czech Republic, the Egyptian Air Force Commander, Lieutenant General Mahmoud Fouad Abdel-Gawad, met with several Czech Armed Forces officials.
These meetings, prompted by an invitation from the Czech Republic and reflecting the Egyptian Armed Forces’ commitment to international military collaboration, aimed to explore and strengthen military ties, the Egyptian Ministry of Defense said in a statement.
Lieutenant General Abdel-Gawad held discussions with Major General Petr Čepelka, Commander of the Czech Air Force, and Mr. František Šulc, the Czech Republic’s First Deputy Minister of Defense. The talks underscored the strong historical relationship between the two nations and the mutual interest in increasing cooperation and exchanging knowledge between their respective Air Forces in the future.
Furthermore, the Air Force Commander met with Mr. Jiří Kozák, the Czech Republic’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs. This meeting emphasized the significance of bolstering the strategic partnership between the two friendly Air Forces and identifying opportunities for collaboration with various Czech aviation companies, ultimately serving the mutual benefits of both countries.
As part of his visit, Lieutenant General Abdel-Gawad also toured the Aero Vodochody aviation company headquarters, where he examined their production lines and learned about the capabilities of their advanced aircraft.

At the end of his visit, the Egyptian Air Force Commander thanked the Czech Republic for their hospitality and the shared understanding on several matters of common interest.
