Kuwait’s Deputy Chief of Staff for the Supply and Logistics Authority Major General Salah Al-Azmi headed the Kuwaiti Army delegation at the 15th meeting of the Kuwait-Egyptian Cooperation Committee, held in Egypt.
The General Staff of the Kuwaiti Army said in a statement that the meeting addressed several issues of mutual interest and explored ways to expand cooperation and exchange expertise, contributing to stronger coordination and joint action between the Armed Forces of the two brotherly countries, Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) reported.
On the sidelines of the meeting, Al-Azmi met with his Egyptian counterpart, Head of the Supply and Logistics Authority of the Egyptian Armed Forces Major General Mohammad Kamal, and Director of Cooperation Major General Ahmed Omar. The two sides exchanged views on matters related to military cooperation and discussed ways to further strengthen existing coordination.
Meanwhile, Commander of the Kuwaiti Naval Force Major General (Navy) Saif Al-Hamlan met with his Egyptian counterpart, Commander of the Egyptian Naval Forces Vice Admiral Mahmoud Fawzi.
The meeting reviewed aspects of naval cooperation and coordination, while the two sides exchanged expertise in several areas of mutual interest. The meetings were attended by Kuwait’s Military Attaché to Egypt Brigadier General Dhari Al-Hajeri, along with a number of senior officers and commanders from both sides.
In another development and as part of the Egyptian Armed Forces’ keenness to strengthen military cooperation and exchange expertise in various military fields with brotherly and friendly countries, the Egyptian Armed Forces conducted a number of specialized training courses for a number of personnel from the Republic of Mali in the field of VIP protection and security, which were conducted at one of the Military Police Administration’s units.
The courses included intensive physical fitness and self-defense training, as well as a number of theoretical lectures and training in the provision of first aid and life-saving procedures. The trainees also carried out a series of practical exercises covering the latest specialized methods and tactics, as well as procedures for responding to emergency situations and various hostile threats in the field of VIP protection and security.
The training also included standard and non-standard firing exercises, in addition to a number of professional-level training exercises aimed at honing the skills of the participating personnel and enhancing their combat efficiency, the Egyptian Ministry of Defense said in a statement.
At the conclusion of the courses, a number of trainees were honored in recognition of their outstanding performance throughout the training period. The trainees, for their part, expressed their appreciation to the Egyptian Armed Forces for the care and attention provided to them to enhance their combat capabilities, thereby enabling them to perform their assigned missions with efficiency and competence.
