Kuwait National Guard Assistant for Financial Affairs and Resource Management Major General Riyadh Al-Tawari and Commander of Military and Security Affairs Brigadier General Abdullah Abdullah received Monday a Finnish delegation led by Undersecretary of State for International Trade Jarno Siriala and Finnish Ambassador to Qatar Juha Mustonen (photo).
The National Guard said in a statement that the meeting focused on enhancing cooperation and exchanging expertise in military and security fields, Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) reported.
Al-Tawari welcomed the delegation and conveyed the greetings of the National Guard leadership, stressing the importance of exchanging visits and expertise, strengthening coordination with friendly countries and benefiting from specialized experiences to enhance readiness and technical capabilities.
During the visit, the Finnish delegation toured the Sheikh Salem Al-Ali Chemical Defense and Radiation Monitoring Center, where it reviewed the facility's capabilities and received a briefing on its role in monitoring radiation levels and hazardous materials through various monitoring stations.
The delegation was also briefed on measures to prevent and protect against chemical, biological and radiological hazards, as well as detection, monitoring and emergency response procedures aimed at ensuring rapid response and enhancing readiness.
On 30 September, Kuwait’s National Guard Undersecretary Lt General Hamad Al-Barjas, accompanied by Commander of Military and Security Affairs Brigadier General Abdullah Abdullah, visited the Operations Center, Security System and Crisis Management Center at the National Guard Headquarters. They were received by Commander of Operations and Training Brig Gen Saleh Ghunaim.
In a press statement issued Wednesday, the National Guard said Al-Barjas conveyed the greetings and appreciation of the National Guard leadership to officers for their efforts and dedication. Al-Barjas was briefed on the National Guard’s level of readiness and the preparedness of its personnel to carry out their duties efficiently and effectively in maintaining the country’s security and safety.
Last week, Kuwait National Guard’s Deputy Chief Sheikh Faisal Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah reviewed preparations for the upcoming training season, the readiness of relevant units and sectors, and the requirements needed to implement training programs according to established plans. Sheikh Faisal conveyed to the personnel the greetings and appreciation of National Guard Chief Sheikh Mubarak Al-Humoud Al-Sabah, along with his wishes for success in carrying out their duties.
He praised the personnel’s efforts in performing their assigned tasks, stressing the importance of continuing to work as a team while maintaining commitment and excellence. The meeting was attended by National Guard Undersecretary Lt General Hamad Al-Barjas and Assistant for Financial Affairs and Resources Major General Riyadh Tawari.
