Kuwait’s Minister of Defense Sheikh Abdullah Ali Abdullah Al-Salem Al-Sabah has affirmed that the Joint Command and Staff College represents a cornerstone in preparing and qualifying commanding officers, equipping them with the knowledge and experience necessary to enhance leadership capabilities and enable effective decision-making across all levels of military operations.
This came in a speech delivered by Sheikh Abdullah Al-Ali, according to a statement issued by the General Staff of the Kuwaiti Army, following his patronage and attendance at the graduation ceremony of the 30th Joint Command and Staff Course held on Wednesday, in the presence of senior military and security officials, Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) reported.
The Minister urged graduates to fully utilize the knowledge and skills gained during the program and to apply them in practical military contexts, while continuing to develop their professional competencies in service of the nation and to further strengthen the readiness of the Armed Forces.
He expressed pride in the officers’ achievements and academic excellence, commending the participation of officers from the Ministry of Interior and the National Guard, alongside counterparts from brotherly and friendly countries. He said these contributions reflect the depth of joint military cooperation between Kuwait and participating nations.
Sheikh Abdullah also praised the efforts of the Mubarak Al-Abdullah Joint Command and Staff College, its leadership, and faculty in advancing military education and training in line with modern scientific and operational concepts, contributing to the preparation of highly qualified leadership cadres for the Armed Forces.
In his address, Assistant Commandant of the College Brigadier General Bader Al-Zaabi reviewed the institution’s development since its establishment, highlighting its academic and military progress in consolidating its position as a specialized military educational institution preparing leaders capable of addressing modern challenges.
He noted that the college continues to update its programs, curricula, and training methodologies in line with rapid developments in military science and technology, including artificial intelligence and information systems, thereby enhancing officers’ capabilities in analysis, planning, and decision-making based on sound professional principles. Following the ceremony, the Defense Minister presented certificates and awards to graduates and honored top performers, expressing pride in their accomplishments.
The event was attended by Chief of the General Staff of the Army Lieutenant General Khaled Al-Shuraiaan, Deputy Chief Major General (Pilot) Sabah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, Acting Undersecretary of the Ministry of Defense Dr. Wael Nasser Al-Sabah, Director General of the Coast Guard Brigadier General (Navy) Mubarak Ali Al-Yousef Al-Sabah, Commander of Military and Security Affairs in the National Guard Brigadier General Abdullah Al-Khazi, and several senior officers.
The 30th course included 118 participants, comprising 59 officers from the Kuwaiti Army, seven from the Ministry of Interior, 10 from the National Guard, and 42 officers from brotherly and friendly armed forces.
