Egyptian Military Academy Witnesses Signing of Cooperation Agreement with Hiroshima University

Within the framework of the Egyptian Armed Forces’ commitment to supporting the system of education and scientific research, and to strengthening academic ties with various countries across multiple disciplines, the Armed Forces organized a field visit for a delegation from Hiroshima University, which included the University President and a number of faculty members, to the Egyptian Military Academy.

The visit was attended by Mr. Mohamed Abdel Latif, Minister of Education and Technical Education, Major General Mohamed Salah El-Torky, Commandant of the Egyptian Military Academy, and a number of faculty members of the Academy, the Egyptian Ministry of Defense said in a statement.

The visit commenced with the presentation of a documentary film highlighting the Egyptian Military Academy, followed by a tour of its facilities. During the tour, the delegation was briefed on the Academy’s advanced educational and technological capabilities, as well as its modern educational systems that contribute to the preparation and qualification of human cadres across various fields. This reflects the Academy’s standing as a leading national institution in both military and civilian education.

In a related context, the Egyptian Military Academy participated in the signing ceremony of a cooperation agreement between several Egyptian Ministries and Hiroshima University. The event was attended by a number of Ministers, Mr. Mitsuo Ochi, President of Hiroshima University, and Major General Mohamed Abu El-Fotouh, Deputy commandant of the Egyptian Military Academy for the Military College.

The agreement aims to achieve joint cooperation and maximize the benefit from the capabilities and resources available at both the Egyptian Military Academy and Hiroshima University, both theoretically and practically, across several fields -particularly in the qualification of teachers and faculty members. The agreement also seeks to refine their skills, enhance their competencies, and develop a number of research systems and academic curricula at both institutions.

In another development, Lieutenant General Ashraf Salem Zaher, Commander-in-Chief of the Egyptian Armed Forces and Minister of Defense and Military Production, met with a number of personnel from the Western Military Zone, as well as elements from formations and units subordinate to the Military Zone via video conference.

The meeting was attended by Lieutenant General Ahmed Khalifa, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, commanders of the main branches, and a number of senior Armed Forces leaders. This engagement comes within the framework of the Armed Forces General Command’s periodic meetings aimed at maintaining direct communication with personnel and unifying understanding on various issues related to the Armed Forces.

The meeting commenced with a speech delivered by Major General Hatem Mostafa Zahran, Commander of the Western Military Zone, who expressed appreciation for the continuous and unwavering support provided by the General Command of the Armed Forces. He affirmed that the men of the Western Military Zone remain steadfast in their commitment to make every sacrifice in defense of the nation.

During the meeting, General Ashraf Salem Zaher conveyed the greetings and appreciation of His Excellency President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, President of the Republic and Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, to the personnel of the Western Military Zone.

He highlighted the strong cohesion between the forces of the Western Military Zone and the tribal elders and community leaders of Matrouh in securing the western strategic direction. He further underscored the Armed Forces’ commitment to preparing highly qualified combatants capable of keeping pace with technological advancements across all fields, in addition to adopting modern training methods. Emphasis was also placed on the importance of continuous awareness and resilience against psychological warfare, contributing to the preservation of high morale and operational and combat efficiency.

The Commander-in-Chief conducted an inspection of the assembled forces to assess their combat readiness. He emphasized that Egypt relies on the dedication of its loyal sons, and affirmed that the Armed Forces remain an integral part of the Egyptian people, united in purpose and committed to safeguarding the nation’s security and stability.
