Activities of the Egyptian–Turkish joint air exercise commenced on 11 June 2026, with the participation of a number of multi-role fighter aircraft of various types. The exercise was conducted over several days across a number of air bases within the Arab Republic of Egypt.
The initial phase of the exercise included a series of theoretical lectures aimed at unifying operational and combat concepts, as well as exchanging training expertise among the participating personnel. It also involved the execution of several training sorties focused on operational mission profiles in order to coordinate efforts and enhance interoperability between both sides.
The exercise is intended to refine the capabilities of the participating forces, achieving the highest levels of combat readiness, operational efficiency, and preparedness to execute joint air missions with a high degree of effectiveness under various conditions, the Egytian Ministry of Defense said in a statement.
Meanwhile, activities of the Egyptian-Omani joint exercise “Qalaat Al-Jabal-2” also commenced on 11 June, with the participation of elements from the Egyptian Ranger Forces and the Royal Omani Special Forces.
The exercise was conducted over several days at the combat training ranges of the Egyptian Ranger Forces Headquarters, in the Arab Republic of Egypt.
The initial phase of the exercise included a series of academic and theoretical lectures covering a range of operational subjects aimed at unifying operational concepts and enhancing integration and interoperability among the participating forces. Additionally, an exhibition of weapons and equipment used in the exercise was organized by both sides.
The training included a number of practical activities and missions aligned with planned objectives, aimed at exchanging tactical expertise between both sides and maximizing the benefit for participating forces.
The “Qalaat Al-Jabal-2” exercise underscores the depth of the distinguished military ties between the Arab Republic of Egypt and the Sultanate of Oman, while reinforcing joint cooperation, coordination, and the exchange of operational expertise between the armed forces of both brotherly nations.
