Egyptian Commander-in-Chief Receives Deputy Minister of Defense of Bosnia & Herzegovina

Lieutenant General Ashraf Salem Zaher, Commander-in-Chief of the Egyptian Armed Forces and Minister of Defense and Military Production, met with Mr. Zukan Helez, Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers and Minister of Defense of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the accompanying delegation during their official visit to Egypt.

An official reception ceremony was conducted at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the Ministry of Defense, where the military bands played the national anthems of both countries.

The meeting addressed a number of issues of mutual interest and explored means of strengthening military cooperation relations between the two friendly nations, the Egyptian Ministry of Defense said in a statement.

The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces expressed his pride in the longstanding historical relations binding Egypt and Bosnia and Herzegovina, commending the growing prospects of military cooperation in a manner that serves the mutual interests of both sides.

For his part, the Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers and Minister of Defense of Bosnia and Herzegovina expressed his appreciation for Egypt’s pivotal role in consolidating the foundations of regional security and stability, voicing his aspiration for further joint cooperation between the armed forces of both countries during the coming period.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the two ministers signed a cooperation agreement in the field of defense.

The meeting was attended by Lieutenant General Ahmed Khalifa, Chief of Staff of the Egyptian Armed Forces, commanders of the main branches, a number of senior military commanders from both countries, and the Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina to Cairo.
