HRH Prince Faisal bin Al Hussein attended on Monday the opening of the Middle East Special Operations Commanders Conference (MESOC), held in the presence of Chairman of the Jordanian Joint Chiefs of Staff Major General Majdi Al Harasis and Public Security Directorate Director Major General Obaidallah Maaytah.

The Conference brought together senior officers from the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army (JAF), security agencies, and official figures from brotherly and friendly nations, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

More than 400 official delegations representing 75 countries and 350 exhibiting companies from 38 nations are participating in the event to review defence technologies and security strategies.

Participants aim to address future security challenges, strengthen international cooperation, and exchange expertise across multiple operational fields.

Chairman of SOFEX Retired Major General Ayman Batran said that hosting the conference highlights Jordan's international role as a trusted partner in combating terrorism and promoting global peace.

Batran added that this edition is particularly significant given the rapid technological shifts, especially regarding unmanned aerial systems and counter-drone measures.

Commander of the Special Forces stressed that modern operational effectiveness depends on anticipating change and building international strategic partnerships to bolster regional resilience.

The Conference featured three main panel sessions focusing on military-academic-industrial technical integration, uncrewed systems in asymmetric warfare, and joint integration centres.

MESOC serves as the official conference preceding the Special Operations Forces Exhibition (SOFEX 2026), which commences on Tuesday in Aqaba under Royal patronage and runs for three days.
