The Saudi Ministry of National Guard has received the Excellence Award in the Localization of Military Industries in recognition of its efforts to transfer technical support contracts for rotary-wing aircraft (helicopters) to local providers under government procurement agreements.
The award was presented during the Military Industries Forum (MIF), organized by the General Authority for Military Industries (GAMI).
The award is part of an initiative by GAMI to recognize military and security entities and companies operating in the sector for their contributions to achieving the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030, particularly the target of localizing more than 50% of military spending by 2030.
The achievement reflects the Ministry’s commitment to strengthening reliance on national capabilities in maintenance and technical support, ensuring supply sustainability and enhancing the efficiency of the military sector.
The recognition also highlights the support of the Kingdom’s leadership for the localization of military industries and underscores the efforts of Minister of National Guard Prince Abdullah bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz to develop the ministry's capabilities and strengthen its contribution to achieving the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.
Held annually, the Military Industries Forum (MIF) reflects the sector’s rapid progress and highlights the efforts of GAMI and its partners to localize military spending, strengthen industrial and service capabilities, and enhance the legislative, regulatory, and investment environment.
The Forum also serves as a platform to deepen collaboration between the public and private sectors, support local and international investors, forge high-value partnerships, and facilitate the exchange of expertise, helping sustain the sector’s growth and strengthen its contribution to the national economy.
