Chairman of the Jordanian Joint Chiefs of Staff, Major General Yousef Ahmed Al-Huneiti, met on Thursday with UAE Joint Operations Commander Major General Awad Saeed Al-Ahbabi (photo) to discuss expanding military cooperation and joint efforts in regional security.
The talks, held at the General Command of the Jordan Armed Forces - Arab Army, covered ways to deepen coordination, share expertise, and strengthen readiness across multiple defense fields. Al-Huneiti noted the two armies’ continued collaboration in delivering humanitarian and relief aid to Gaza through joint airdrop operations.
Praising the close military ties as a reflection of the leaderships’ shared vision, Al-Huneiti said the partnership boosts integration and preparedness to face common challenges.
Al-Ahbabi lauded the Jordanian Armed Forces’ role in safeguarding regional stability and stressed the importance of building on the strategic partnership between the two militaries.
The meeting was attended by senior Jordanian officers, the Acting UAE Ambassador, and the UAE Military Attaché in Amman, Petra news agency reported.
Earlier, Major General Yousef Huneiti on Wednesday welcomed Commander of the Colorado National Guard Major General Laura Clellan and an accompanying delegation.
During a meeting at the Jordan Armed Forces- Arab Army (JAF) General Command, the two sides discussed ways to enhance joint military cooperation in the training field and the exchange of expertise, as well as coordinating mutual logistical support.
Huneiti and Clellan called for maintaining current cooperation programs, including joint military exercises and training, to enhance mutual “efficiency and readiness” capacities to contribute to regional and global security and stability.
Senior JAF officers and the US Military Attaché in Amman attended the meeting.
