In implementation of the directives of the Chief of Staff of the Iraqi Army, and as part of his inspection tours to monitor the level of readiness and combat preparedness, the Commander of the Air Force, Lieutenant General Pilot Staff Khaled Merdas Ismail, conducted an inspection visit to Brigadier General Ali Faleh Air Base.
He was received by the base commander and several staff officers, where he reviewed the combat readiness of the F-16 fighter jets and monitored the progress of operations and training. Base pilots also conducted a tactical exercise with F-16s, demonstrating their high level of preparedness and skill in carrying out their duties.
The visit included an inspection tour of several key areas of the base, as well as the Air Force Hospital, to review the level of medical services provided to the personnel, the Iraqi Ministry of Defense said in a statement.
The Air Force Commander directed that efforts be intensified to maintain continuous readiness and combat operations, to overcome obstacles facing the fighters, and to ensure they receive the necessary medical care and treatment.
At the conclusion of the visit, the Air Force Commander commended the efforts of the base commander, officers, and ranks, praising the level of discipline and performance, and wishing everyone continued success in performing their duties.
For his part, the Commander of the Iraqi Naval Force, Rear Admiral Hisham Taher Hammadi, visited the Arabian Gulf Academy for Maritime Studies. He was received by the President of the Academy and a number of staff officers.
The President of the Academy gave a detailed briefing on the tasks and duties of the Academy. Then the Commander of the Naval Force gave a number of directives on the occasion of the beginning of the new academic year (2026-2027). After that, His Excellency opened the dormitories of the Academy.
The second stop was a visit to the Naval College, the College students’ restaurant, and the classrooms, where His Excellency gave instructions regarding the progress of the training of the Naval College students and the Maritime Vocational Training Center.
