Iraq’s Air Force Command Receives Special Committee on Cybersecurity

The Iraqi Air Force Command received a committee from the Cyber Security and Artificial Intelligence Directorate to review and examine the general systems adopted in the Command, with the aim of strengthening protection procedures and ensuring their safety from cyber intrusion attempts.

The committee was received by the Air Force Commander and the Director of Air Communications, during which a detailed explanation was given about the importance of information security and ways to preserve it, in addition to discussing the technical procedures followed to protect electronic systems and raise the level of cybersecurity.

At the conclusion of the visit, the committee expressed its thanks and appreciation to the Air Force leadership for its cooperation and joint coordination, stressing the importance of continuing joint work in the field of cybersecurity and developing technical and technological capabilities, the Iraqi Ministry of Defense said in a statement.

In another development, the Assistant Chief of Staff of the Iraqi Army for Operations, Lieutenant General Saad Ali Ati Harbiya, chaired Thursday the fifth periodic conference of the Artillery Directorate for the year 2026, in the presence of the Commander of the Ground Forces, Lieutenant General Qasim Muhammad Saleh, and the Director of Planning, Lieutenant General Nasr Abdul Ali.

The conference witnessed broad participation from artillery commanders and officers in the military divisions, as well as artillery advisors in all operational commands.

During the conference, the level of combat, administrative and logistical readiness of the artillery formations and units in the Iraqi army was discussed, in addition to reviewing the future plans and duties assigned to them, and examining mechanisms for developing field performance and joint coordination between the various units, in order to contribute to strengthening the capabilities of the Armed Forces and raising their efficiency in facing security challenges.
