The Saudi Minister of Interior Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif bin Abdulaziz (photo), chaired Monday the 33rd annual meeting of the Governors of Regions, held via videoconference.
At the outset of the meeting, Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud conveyed the greetings of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
He reaffirmed the leadership’s directives to preserve security and to facilitate and ease all matters for citizens, residents, and visitors across the Kingdom, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.
The Interior Minister and the regional governors praised the Saudi leadership’s prudent directives to reinforce security and stability amid ongoing regional developments, mobilize all available resources to ensure the safety of everyone in the Kingdom, and provide support to stranded Gulf nationals from GCC member states at airports both within and beyond the Kingdom.
During the meeting, participants reviewed a range of topics aimed at reinforcing security and stability and advancing development efforts. They also examined reports and working papers designed to enhance quality of life in alignment with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the attendees reached a number of recommendations in preparation for submitting them to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince.
Meantime, the Saudi Ministry of Interior has confirmed that the Kingdom’s security remains stable and daily life continues normally across all its regions despite recent regional developments.
Security sectors are operating around the clock within an integrated system to ensure the safety of all citizens, residents, and visitors, the Ministry added.
Emphasizing that national security is its top priority, the Ministry urged the public to rely solely on official sources and cautioned against circulating rumors or unverified videos.
In another development, Governor of Riyadh Region Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz inaugurated Sunday the World Civil Defense Day activities via video conference, under the theme of a safe environment and a sustainable future.
The inauguration took place during a reception at the Qasr Al-Hukm for Civil Defense Department Director Brigadier Gen. Mohammad Abu Abah and departmental staff.
Prince Faisal emphasized the importance of educational programs in schools and on remote platforms, noting that awareness is crucial for prevention. He highlighted the value of participating in international observances that focus on community well-being.
Brigadier General Abu Abah stated that World Civil Defense Day promotes safety and property protection, raises public awareness, and underscores the community's role in supporting Civil Defense efforts.
