Shaikh Salman bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, CEO of Bahrain’s National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC), confirmed that the national cyber drill “Cyber Shield 2025” under the theme “Supply Chain Attacks” reflected the vision of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the ongoing focus of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, on making cybersecurity a strategic priority to protect the nation’s security against increasing cyber threats.

Shaikh Salman bin Mohammed expressed appreciation for the presence of Lieutenant General His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa (photo), National Security Advisor, Royal Guard Commander and Secretary General of the Supreme Defence Council, at the exercise, as well as His Highness’ directives to ensure swift implementation, which contributes to enhancing national efforts to confront evolving cyber threats targeting vital government and private sectors.

He also expressed pride in the success of the exercise, which saw wide participation from various government entities, alongside private and vital sectors.

Held on 26-31 August 2025, the exercise simulated an advanced cyberattack scenario targeting supply chains, reflecting the current growing reality of cyber threats, NCSC said.

Shaikh Salman bin Mohammed noted that the broad participation was a key factor in the exercise’s success, emphasising that high coordination between participating bodies and the National Cybersecurity Centre significantly boosted readiness to respond to advanced cyberattacks.

The CEO also thanked the NCSC team responsible for organising the exercise, highlighting their efforts in its implementation and management in line with the highest global standards, as well as their strong cooperation and coordination with participants throughout the exercise, which contributed to achieving its objectives.
