With direct follow-up from the Commander of Iraq’s Air Defense, and in cooperation with the office of women’s affairs in the Command, the Air Defense Command hosted a specialized workshop titled “Women, Peace and Security” in the Martyr Major Anmar Khudair Al-Jubouri Hall.
The workshop was organized by the NATO mission in Iraq in coordination with the women’s affairs department in the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry said in a statement.
The two-day workshop included a series of lectures and important discussion sessions, most notably on the international and national legal foundations of the women, peace, and security program, as well as lectures on the role of women in leadership, their contributions to enhancing stability, and their assumption of leadership positions within the military institution.
In another development, the Commander of the Iraqi Ground Forces, Lieutenant General Qasim Muhammad Salih Al-Muhammadi, recently conducted an inspection of the 22nd commando division within the Maysan operations command. He was received by the Deputy Division Commander along with several formation and unit Commanders.
The visit included the 81st Brigade and its subordinate units, where he reviewed the security situation, the readiness of the forces, and their deployment. He emphasized the importance of maintaining combat readiness, vigilance, and caution, while reinforcing intelligence efforts to strengthen security and stability within the area of responsibility.
The Commander also examined the administrative conditions of the soldiers, assessed their most pressing needs, and directed unit leaders to carry out continuous field visits to their personnel. (Source & Photo © Iraq’s Ministry of Defense)
