Vice Admiral Abdullah Khamis Al Raisi, Chief of Staff of the Sultan’s Armed Forces (SAF), received in his office at Al Murtafaa Camp Tuesday Major General Abdulaziz Ahmed Al Balawi, Commander of the Unified Military Command of the GCC (photo), accompanied by Major General Mohammed Abdulrahman Al Ruwais, Commander of the Peninsula Shield Force.
During the meeting, the two sides exchanged views and discussed a number of military matters of mutual interest, Oman News Agency (ONA) reported.
Furthermore, Major General Mattar Salim Al Balushi, Commander of the Royal Army of Oman (RAO), received the visiting Commander of the GCC Unified Military Command, accompanied by the Commander of the Peninsula Shield Force.
During this meeting, the two sides discussed several topics of mutual interest.
Earlier, Major General Hamid Ahmed Sakroon, Chairman of Oman’s Academy of Strategic and Defence Studies received at his office in Bait Al Falaj Camp Monday the Commander of the GCC Unified Military Command and his accompanying military delegation.
The meeting exchanged views on a set of military topics of mutual interest.
Meantime, Dr. Mohammed Nasser Al Zaabi, Secretary-General of the Omani Ministry of Defence, received Sunday Alistair Carns, Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for the Armed Forces in the United Kingdom (UK), and his accompanying delegation.
During the meeting, the two sides reviewed the close relations between the two countries and discussed several topics of common concern.
Following this, the first meeting of the Joint Military Committee was held. The session discussed mechanisms for developing joint work and enhancing military cooperation between the Defence Ministries of both countries, in addition to several topics listed on the committee’s agenda.
