HH Sayyid Shihab bin Tarik Al Said, Oman’s Deputy Prime Minister for Defense Affairs, received in his office at Al Murtafaa Camp Monday General Saïd Chanegriha, Minister Delegate to the Minister of National Defense and Chief of People’s National Army Staff of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria (photo), along with his accompanying delegation.

During the meeting, the two sides reviewed the fraternal bilateral relations binding the Sultanate of Oman and the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria. They also discussed a number of matters of mutual interest.

The meeting was attended by Vice Admiral Abdullah Khamis Al Raisi, Chief of Staff of the Sultan’s Armed Forces.

For his part, Vice Admiral Abdullah bin Khamis Al Raisi, Chief of Staff of the Sultan’s Armed Forces, also received at his office General Saïd Chanegriha and his accompanying delegation.

Upon the arrival of the visiting guest at the headquarters of the COSAF, an official reception ceremony was conducted for him. The guard of honour performed the military salute, and a military band played the salute of honour, after which the guest reviewed the guard of honour.

The two sides exchanged views and discussed several military matters, as well as means of enhancing them in a manner that serves mutual interests, Oman News Agency (ONA) reported.

Lastly, Rear Admiral Ali Abdullah Al Shidi, Commandant of the National Defence College (NDC), received at his office in Bait Al Falaj Camp the visiting Algerian Chief of Army Staff and his accompanying delegation.

The two sides exchanged views on a number of topics of common interest, particularly in academic fields.

The guest and his accompanying delegation listened to a briefing about the National Defence College at the Academy for Strategic and Defence Studies, including its facilities and equipment and viewed the various departments.

All three meetings were attended by the Ambassador of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria to the Sultanate of Oman.
