On Thursday, July 30, 2026, the Chief of Staff of the Iraqi Army, Lieutenant General Abdul Amir Rashid Yarallah, received in his office the Commander of Qayyarah Air Base, Major General Pilot Hussein Musakhin Thajil, on the occasion of his assuming his new position (photo).
He offered him congratulations and best wishes, hoping for his success in performing his duties and responsibilities, stressing the importance of maintaining the highest levels of combat readiness and improving performance by developing the Base’s facilities and other infrastructure, in order to ensure the implementation of the duties assigned to the base.
For his part, the Commander of Qayyarah Air Base expressed his gratitude and appreciation to His Excellency for his congratulations, stressing his determination to continue working to develop the base’s performance and enhance its readiness in line with the requirements of the military establishment, the Iraqi Ministry of Defense said in a statement.
Furthermore, the Iraqi Chief of Staff also met on Thursday with the Commander of the 8th Mechanized Infantry Division, Major General Ahmed Kazem, on the occasion of his assuming command of the division, offering him congratulations and best wishes for success in carrying out his responsibilities.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Chief of Staff directed the need to continue enhancing combat readiness and raising the level of operational and training performance, in order to ensure the efficient execution of the duties and tasks assigned to the division, stressing the consolidation of military discipline, intensifying training programs, and enhancing coordination between formations in a way that serves the security and stability of the country.
The Commander of the Eighth Division thanked the Chief of Staff for his congratulations and guidance, stressing the commitment to carrying out the tasks assigned to him, working to develop the division’s capabilities and maintaining the highest levels of readiness to perform its duties.
Also on Thursday, July 30, 2026, the Chief of Staff of the Iraqi Armyreceived the Commander of the Sixteenth Division, Major General Arkan Jamil, on the occasion of his assuming his new position. His Excellency offered his congratulations and best wishes on this occasion, wishing him success in performing the duties and responsibilities entrusted to him.
During the meeting, the Chief of Staff stressed the importance of continuing to work with a spirit of responsibility and discipline, and raising the level of combat and training readiness, in order to enhance the capabilities of the division and carry out the tasks assigned to it efficiently and competently, stressing the need to consolidate the principles of institutional work and continuous coordination to achieve the set goals.
For his part, the Commander of the Sixteenth Division expressed his thanks and appreciation to the Chief of Staff of the Army for his support and guidance, stressing his determination to exert maximum efforts to improve the performance of the division and carry out its duties in a way that serves the military institution and preserves the security and stability of the country.
