As part of the training plan for the Egyptian Armed Forces’ formations and units, a number of Armed Forces formations conducted a Strategic Command Post Exercise which lasted for several days within the Second Field Army’s area of responsibility.
The exercise was attended by General Ashraf Salem Zaher, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and Minister of Defense and Military Production; General Ahmed Khalifa, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces; Commanders of the Armed Forces’ main branches; and a number of Armed Forces Commanders.
The activities began with a presentation of a summary of the actions conducted during the preceding phases, as well as the decisions taken by commanders while managing the exercise.
General Ashraf Salem Zaher discussed the methods used to execute assigned tasks and the decision-making processes adopted to address emerging developments during operations with a number of exercise Commanders, the Egyptian Ministry of Defense said in a statement.
He commended the outstanding level demonstrated by all personnel in planning, executing, and managing the various phases of the exercise, emphasizing that training is the cornerstone of combat readiness and the decisive factor in enabling forces to accomplish their missions with a high degree of precision.
General Ahmed Khalifa, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, had previously attended one of the exercise phases, which included presentations of decisions and coordination procedures implemented by personnel from various specialties. He also discussed with a number of exercise participants their methods of planning and managing their assigned tasks, in order to assess their ability to make the optimal decisions during the execution of the exercise.
The exercise demonstrated the high level of combat readiness attained by Armed Forces personnel, as well as their full coordination and cohesion and their ability to conduct joint operations across different arms and specialties, enabling them to accomplish all assigned missions with efficiency and competence.
