Egyptian Army Chief Receives French Chief of Defense Staff

Lieutenant General Ashraf Salem Zaher, Commander-in-Chief of the Egyptian Armed Forces and Minister of Defense and Military Production, met last week General Fabien Mandon, Chief of the Defense Staff of the French Armed Forces, and his accompanying delegation during their visit to Egypt.

The meeting addressed military cooperation between the Armed Forces of the two friendly countries in support of security and stability efforts in the region.

Lieutenant General Ahmed Khalifa, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, also met General Fabien Mandon and his accompanying delegation. An official reception ceremony was held at the Headquarters of the Ministry of Defense, during which military music played the national anthems of both countries.

The meeting covered a number of issues of mutual interest and ways to further enhance cooperation across various military fields, the Egyptian Ministry of Defense said in a statement.

Lieutenant General Ahmed Khalifa highlighted the depth of the partnership and bilateral cooperation between the Egyptian and French Armed Forces.

For his part, General Fabien Mandon expressed his appreciation for the strong and longstanding ties between Egypt and France.
