General Abdel Mageed Saqr, Commander-in-Chief of the Egyptian Armed Forces and Minister of Defense and Military Production, attended the Scientific Day of the Military Technical College, which included the conclusion of the 8th International Military Technical College Competition (named after Lt. General Ibrahim Saleem).
This competition featured the eighth edition of the Unmanned Systems Competition (Land, Air, Marine), the fourth edition of the Satellites Competition, and the second editions of the Artificial Intelligence and Cybersecurity Competitions. The event also marked the conclusion of the 8th International Military Technical College Conference on Research and Innovations by undergraduate students.
The event was attended by Lieutenant General Ahmed Khalifa, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, along with several Ministers, main branches Commanders, Armed Forces Leaders, Military Attachés, University Presidents, and public figures, the Egyptian Ministry of Defense said in a statement.
The event began with a speech by Major General Professor Dr. Moataz Ibrahim Abu El-Nour, Director of the Military Technical College, who highlighted the Armed Forces General Command commitment to supporting all scientific activities, including competitions, projects, and innovations, to enhance scientific standards and foster an environment conducive to scientific competition in line with advancements in modern scientific fields.
A documentary film showcasing the College’s notable scientific activities during the 2023/2024 academic year was presented, followed by the announcement of the results of the Unmanned Systems Competition, the Satellites Competition, the Artificial Intelligence and Cybersecurity Competitions, and the International Military Technical College Conference on Research and Innovations by undergraduate students.
Furthermore, the status of faculty members holding academic degrees (PhD, Master's) and (Professor, Assistant Professor) titles for the 2023/2024 academic year was reviewed, and distinguished participants in the competitions and scientific conference, as well as outstanding faculty members from postgraduate studies during the 2023/2024 training year, were honored.
General Abdel Mageed Saqr also visited the scientific exhibition, where he observed outstanding graduation projects by students from the Military Technical College and engineering faculties of Egyptian universities, as well as research activities by faculty members. He praised the high standard of various innovations and research activities displayed, which enhance scientific benefits from rapid advancements in modern sciences.
