The Egyptian-Greek Joint Exercise “MEDUSA-15” commenced in Greece and is scheduled to continue for several days across the Mediterranean Theater of Operations and a number of Greek air bases.
The exercise involves elements from the Naval Forces, Air Forces, Air Defense Forces, Reconnaissance Forces, and Special Forces, including Paratroopers and Commandos, from Egypt, Greece, Cyprus, France, and Italy.
The exercise activities began with the Egyptian and Greek Naval Forces conducting a joint maritime exercise during the outward voyage. This was followed by a series of theoretical and practical pre-exercise training activities aimed at standardizing operational and combat concepts and facilitating the exchange of expertise among the participating forces, the Egyptian Ministry of Defense said in a statement.
The exercise is expected to feature a number of diverse training activities involving the planning, command, and conduct of naval and air combat operations against a wide range of threats. It will also include various tactical activities and live-fire exercises, as well as training on countering asymmetric and non-conventional threats, reflecting the advanced level of training and high degree of professionalism attained by the participating forces.
Earlier, the Ministry announced that the second edition of the El Alamein International Airshow and Space Exhibition (EIAS 2026), which concluded on 10 September, featured a wide range of activities throughout the event, making this edition a distinguished platform for stakeholders and specialists interested in the aviation and space sectors at all levels.
The exhibition also witnessed broad international participation by a number 1of brotherly and friendly countries, as well as major leading companies specializing in the aviation and space industries from around the world.
The exhibition showcased the latest advancements in the aviation and space industries, including cutting-edge technologies that are making a significant difference in this vital sector, the Ministry added.
Military delegations were keen to tour the various pavilions and stands of the exhibition. The event also witnessed a high visitor turnout and an extensive media presence, with various media outlets providing live coverage of the high level of interaction and engagement offered by the exhibition to visitors, specialists, and professionals working in the aviation and space sectors. Attendees widely praised the remarkable success of this edition across all levels.
The event also featured outstanding air displays that highlighted the advanced technical and technological capabilities of the participants.
