GCC Defense Industries Committee Holds Third Meeting in Oman

The Defense Industries Committee of the GCC held its third meeting in Muscat Wednesday. The meeting was attended by delegations of defense industry specialists from the Armed Forces of member states.

The meeting was chaired by Brigadier Khalid Sulaiman Al Shubaibi, Director General of Research and Military Industries at Oman’s Ministry of Defense. Air Vice Marshal Issa Rashid Al Mohannadi, Assistant GCC Secretary General for Military Affairs, was also in attendance.

During the meeting, participants discussed several topics on the agenda aimed at developing integrated strategies and initiatives for coordination among the Armed Forces of the member states in the field of defense industries, Oman News Agency (ONA) reported.

In another local development, Commodore Jasil Mohammed Al Balushi, Acting Commander of the Royal Navy of Oman (RNO) received in Al Murtafa’a Camp Wednesday Rear Admiral Rahul Vilas Gokhale, Commander of the Western Fleet of the Indian Navy.

During the meeting, the two sides exchanged views and discussed several matters of mutual interest, especially in naval fields.
