Chairman of the Jordanian Joint Chiefs of Staff Major General Yousef Ahmed Hunaiti and Director of the Public Security Department Major General Obaidallah Maaytah on Tuesday oversaw activities of the “Darb al-Aman 4” drill at the National Center for Security and Crisis Management (NCSCM), with participation from various ministries, governmental, and civil institutions.
The Darb al-Aman 4 exercise involves the Jordan Armed Forces, security agencies, public institutions, and private sector entities. It is designed to assess national readiness and test capabilities in managing crises and their impacts across different regions of the Kingdom.
During the visit, Major General Hunaiti received a briefing on the exercise phases, its scenarios, and response plans prepared to manage potential crises. The Center’s state-of-the-art monitoring facility, equipped with advanced screens, enables real-time tracking and coordination across implementation sites.
Hunaiti emphasized the importance of harmonizing strategies among participating entities to achieve the highest levels of efficiency and effectiveness in crisis response. He stressed the need to objectively simulate real-world scenarios to enhance readiness and ensure swift responses to emergencies, Petra news agency reported.
For his part, Maaytah underscored that such national exercises provide valuable opportunities to assess preparedness plans and address anticipated challenges, highlighting their role in fostering cooperation and developing effective partnerships between national institutions.
Furthermore, Chairman of the Jordanian Joint Chiefs of Staff, Major General Yousef Huneiti, visited the Command and Control Center at the Special Communications Commission on Tuesday, where he was received by its Director.
Huneiti was briefed by the Commission Director General on the Command and Control Center operations, as well as the modern systems and technologies utilized. These tools are considered key to ensuring effective and secure communication between military units across various locations.
The Army Chief emphasized the importance of developing the infrastructure of military communications and enhancing the Center's readiness to keep pace with technological advancements. This, he noted, is crucial for boosting the Armed Forces’ ability to efficiently carry out their missions. He also highlighted the need to continue training center personnel on the latest systems to ensure a swift and effective response under all conditions.
At the end of the visit, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff commended the efforts of the personnel at the Special Communications Commission, which contribute to strengthening cooperation among various entities and ensuring the readiness of the Armed Forces at all times.
Major General Yousef Huneiti also called Tuesday on the Special Royal Guard Command Headquarters, where he was briefed by its commander on its tasks and duties and operational, training and logistical matters and future development plans.
The Army Chief took a first-hand look at the development and modernization achieved by the Royal Guard Command, commending the high morale and professionalism of its personnel in carrying out their duties and tasks.
