Saudi Minister of Interior Pays Official Visit to Bahrain, Co-Chairs Security Committee Meeting

King of Bahrain Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa received in Manama Wednesday Minister of Interior of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif bin Abdulaziz (photo).

At the start of the meeting, Minister of Interior Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud conveyed greetings from Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and HRH Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, wishing Bahrain continued progress and prosperity. In return, King Hamad extended his greetings and appreciation, wishing Saudi Arabia further development and success.

King Hamad also acknowledged the efforts of the security coordination committee, a part of the Saudi-Bahraini Coordination Council, underscoring the importance of ongoing collaboration.

The meeting included discussions on the close relations and security cooperation between the two countries. The reception was attended by both Saudi and Bahraini officials, as well as other senior representatives, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.

For his part, Kingdom of Bahrain Crown Prince and Prime Minister Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa also received on Wednesday the visiting Saudi Minister of Interior at the Gudaibiya Palace in Manama.

At the beginning of the reception, Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud conveyed the greetings of HRH Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to the Bahraini Crown Prince and wished the Kingdom of Bahrain, its leadership, and its people continued progress and prosperity.

During the reception, the two sides reviewed bilateral relations, as well as the initiatives completed by the Security Coordination Committee established by the Saudi-Bahraini Coordination Council, SPA added.

Meantime, General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Bahrain’s Interior Minister, received His Royal Highness Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Saudi Minister of Interior, upon his arrival to Bahrain on his official visit to attend the third Security Committee Meeting of the Saudi-Bahraini Coordination Council, Bahrain News Agency (BNA) reported.

The Bahraini Minister said that this visit represents a turning point in security cooperation and coordination between the two countries, within the framework of the Saudi-Bahraini Coordination Council. Gen. Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah said that reflects the solid historical relations between the two countries, supported by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.

He praised the positive and constructive spirit prevailing at the meeting of the Security Committee, which is under the Saudi-Bahraini Coordination Council. The council is led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

General Shaikh Rashid underscored the significance of security initiatives to reinforce joint security cooperation which will referred to the Secretariat of the Saudi-Bahraini Coordination Council.

He further pointed out that the visit aims to enhance joint security work to ensure full preparedness and thorough understanding of the security situation in the region, to meet the requirements of the security and stability of the two countries. He added that this visit comes during a sensitive situation that requires continuity of coordination and cooperation.

On his part, the Saudi Interior Minister praised the Bahraini-Saudi relations and affirmed that the meeting comes within the framework of reinforcing security cooperation between the two countries to fulfil common interests.

HRH Prince Abdulaziz commended the efforts made by the teams of both sides to achieve agreed initiatives. He wished Bahrain and its people further security and stability.

The meeting reviewed security topics of mutual interest based on the outcomes of third meeting of the Saudi-Bahraini Coordination Council and requirements for strengthening security cooperation and coordination, building on what has been achieved through the Security Committee’s initiatives to improve performance to confront security challenges and rapid changes regionally and internationally.
