General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Bahrain’s Interior Minister, received Sunday Vice Admiral George M. Wikoff, Commander of US Naval Forces Central Command, Commander of the United States Fifth Fleet (C5F).

Lieutenant-General Tariq bin Hassan Al Hassan, Chief of Public Security, attended the meeting.

The Minister praised the strategic Bahrain-US relations and affirmed the importance of reinforcing security cooperation and exchanging expertise.

The meeting discussed efforts to enhance bilateral cooperation, Bahrain News Agency (BNA) reported.

The Minister also received Sunday Bahrain’s Ambassador to the UK, Shaikh Fawaz bin Mohammed Al Khalifa.

The Interior Minister commended the Embassy’s efforts in strengthening bilateral relations and providing services for Bahraini citizens in the United Kingdom.

The meeting discussed cooperation and security coordination between the two countries, and developing new frameworks of coordination in the coming period.
