The 22nd meeting of the Bahrain-Egypt Joint Military Cooperation Committee concluded in Egypt, attended by Major General Ghanem Ibrahim Al Fadhala, Assistant Chief of Staff for Operations at the Bahrain Defence Force (BDF), and Major General Ahmed Mohamed Omar, Director of Planning at the Egyptian Armed Forces.
The meeting took place from 17 to 21 August and reviewed items on the Committee’s agenda aimed at strengthening defence cooperation between the BDF and the Egyptian Armed Forces.
Earlier last week, His Excellency Abdel Fattah El Sisi, President of the Arab Republic of Egypt received Lieutenant General His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Bahrain’s National Security Advisor and Royal Guard Commander.
Colonel His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Commander of the Royal Guard Special Operations, attended the meeting, Bahrain News Agency (BNA) reported.
HE President El Sisi welcomed HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad and HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad, expressing Egypt’s appreciation for the policies and efforts of His Majesty the King.
He further emphasised Egypt’s commitment to continue joint coordination and cooperation with the Kingdom of Bahrain in all domains, reflecting the strong historical ties between the two countries and serving the interests and aspirations of the two peoples, especially in light of the challenges facing the region.
During the meeting, HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad commended the depth of the longstanding ties between the two countries. His Highness underlined the importance of enhancing bilateral cooperation in various domains and commended the efforts of HE President El Sisi in supporting regional security and stability.
