Lieutenant General Ahmed Khalifa, Chief of Staff of the Egyptian Armed Forces, met with Lieutenant General Tony Davies, Commander of the New Zealand Defence Force, and his accompanying delegation, who were visiting Egypt on an official trip that included a visit to the Multinational Force and Observers (MFO) camp in Sharm El-Sheikh.
The discussions addressed a range of topics of mutual interest, with a particular focus on exploring avenues to strengthen military cooperation and the exchange of expertise between the Egyptian and New Zealand Armed Forces.
During the meeting, the Chief of Staff affirmed his aspiration to deepen military relations with the New Zealand Defence Force, stressing the importance of coordinating efforts and expanding prospects for future cooperation, the Egyptian Ministry of Defence said in a statement.
For his part, the Commander of the New Zealand Defence Force commended Egypt’s pivotal role in promoting security and stability in the Middle East. He also expressed his country's keen interest in advancing fruitful cooperation with the Egyptian Armed Forces across various military domains in the period ahead.
