His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, Supreme Commander of Bahrain Armed Forces, received Lieutenant General Sir Charlie Collins, Deputy Chief of Defence Staff for Military Strategy and Operations of the United Kingdom.
His Majesty commended the strong bilateral relations and close partnership between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the United Kingdom, which have a longstanding history of cooperation and coordination, particularly in defence and military affairs as allies and friends.
HM further stressed the mutual commitment to developing these relations at all levels in a manner that serves the two countries’ shared goals and interests and benefits their peoples.
HM the King also commended the key role played by the UK regionally and internationally and its efforts to strengthen security and stability regionally and internationally.
The meeting discussed regional and international developments, particularly the latest developments in the region, as well as issues of mutual interest, Bahrain News Agency (BNA) reported.
Lieutenant General Sir Charlie Collins expressed appreciation for His Majesty’s efforts to strengthen the historic friendship and close military and defence cooperation between the two countries.
Later, Lieutenant General His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, National Security Advisor and Royal Guard Commander, received the visiting Deputy Chief of Defence Staff for Military Strategy and Operations of the United Kingdom.
Shaikh Khalid bin Ali bin Jaber Al Khalifa, Deputy National Security Advisor; and Shaikh Ahmed bin Abdulaziz Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Strategic Security Bureau, were present.
His Highness welcomed Lieutenant General Sir Charlie Collins, highlighting the depth of the historical and strategic relations between Bahrain and the United Kingdom, as well as the close and evolving cooperation between the two countries across various fields, particularly in the military and defence sectors.
His Highness stressed the importance of the Comprehensive Security Integration and Prosperity Agreement (C-SIPA) as a key pillar in strengthening the strategic partnership between the two countries.
The meeting also addressed areas of cooperation that serve the two countries’ mutual interests, as well as ways to enhance coordination and consultation on various challenges. The two sides exchanged views on the most significant regional and international developments in support of security and stability.
Lastly, Lieutenant General Theyab bin Saqr Al Nuaimi, Chief of Staff of Bahrain Defence Force (BDF), received the Deputy Chief of Defence Staff for Military Strategy and Operations of the United Kingdom, and his accompanying delegation.
Lieutenant General Al Nuaimi and Lieutenant General Sir Charlie Collins reviewed military cooperation between the two countries and its development across various domains.
