His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the Supreme Commander of Bahrain’s Armed Forces, received last week Admiral Charles Bradford Cooper, Commander of the United States Central Command (CENTCOM), and the accompanying delegation, at Al Safriya Palace.

HM the King welcomed the CENTCOM Commander and his delegation, congratulating him on assuming his new duties and wishing him success in strengthening Bahraini-US cooperation in the defence and security sectors, to serve regional security and peace.

HM the King underscored the longstanding strategic relations and close historical partnership between the two countries, built over decades on trust, respect, and joint coordination.  His Majesty also commended the continuous progress witnessed in bilateral cooperation across various sectors, as two countries and allied nations striving to achieve their shared goals and aspirations.

HM the King commended the role of the US administration in consolidating the foundations of regional security and stability, Bahrain News Agency (BNA) reported.

The meeting also reviewed regional and international developments, including the latest events in the region.

For his part, HRH The Deputy King, His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, also received Thursday Admiral Charles Bradford Cooper II, Commander of the U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) and an accompanying delegation, at Riffa Palace.

HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad congratulated the Admiral on his appointment as Commander of CENTCOM, wishing him success in his role.

HRH the Deputy King affirmed the strength of the strategic partnership between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the United States, highlighting the mutual commitment to further advancing these ties and deepening the relationship across all levels.

HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad emphasised the importance of advancing bilateral cooperation, underpinned by a deep-rooted partnership and reinforced through joint agreements, including the Comprehensive Security Integration and Prosperity Agreement (CSIPA).

HRH the Deputy King reiterated the importance of advancing joint coordination across all fields, particularly in military and defence, that works towards achieving common aspirations.

The latest regional and international developments, as well as issues of mutual interest, were also discussed in the meeting.

HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad also underscored the vital role of the United States, alongside allied nations, in safeguarding regional and international security and stability.

His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Minister of the Prime Minister’s Court, His Excellency Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Minister of Finance and National Economy, and Lieutenant-General Theyab bin Saqr Al-Nuaimi, Chief of Staff of the Bahrain Defence Force, attended the meeting.
