His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the Supreme Commander of the Bahrain Armed Forces, received Sunday at Al Safriya Palace General Michael Kurilla, Commander of the United States Central Command, accompanied by his delegation, on the occasion of his visit to the Kingdom.
His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces and Prime Minister; His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Personal Representative of His Majesty the King; Lieutenant-General Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, National Security Advisor and Commander of the Royal Guard; and His Highness Colonel Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Commander of the Royal Guard Special Force, were present.
During the meeting, His Majesty the King welcomed General Kurilla and expressed his appreciation for his efforts in developing Bahraini-American cooperation in defence and security, Bahrain News Agency (BNA) reported.
His Majesty commended the historical ties and close partnership between Bahrain and the US, based on trust, mutual respect, cooperation, and joint coordination as allies. His Majesty noted the continued development of bilateral cooperation in all domains.
His Majesty also commended the US administration for its pivotal role and effective efforts in maintaining the security and stability of the region.
The meeting further addressed regional and international developments, with a focus on recent events in the region.
Following the meeting, His Majesty the King hosted a lunch banquet in honour of General Kurilla and his accompanying delegation.
In another development, Lieutenant General Abdullah bin Hassan Al Nuaimi, Bahrain’s Minister of Defence Affairs, received a group of newly commissioned officers from military colleges and institutes as they took the legal oath.
Lieutenant General Theyab bin Saqr Al Nuaimi, Chief of Staff of the Bahrain Defence Force (BDF), was present.
The Minister conveyed the greetings of Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, the Commander-in-Chief of the BDF, to the newly graduated officers, congratulating them on their graduation and thanking them for their efforts during their studies.
In line with the vision of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, and the support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces and Prime Minister, the Minister encouraged the graduates to apply their knowledge with diligence and professionalism, while continuing to enhance their skills to meet the operational needs of the BDF.
