His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the Supreme Commander of the Bahrain Armed Forces, received Wednesday at Sakhir Palace Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Commander in Chief of the Bahrain Defence Force (BDF), and senior BDF officers.
During the meeting, HM the King expressed appreciation for the dedication and national service of BDF personnel and commended their commitment and efforts in defending the Kingdom and upholding its values and interests.
HM the King highlighted the armed forces’ readiness to sacrifice and their dedication in serving the nation and defending its values and interests, emphasising that such commitment reflects their high sense of duty and patriotism.
HM the King emphasised that the armed forces remain the Kingdom’s first line of defence, trusted to safeguard its security at all times, Bahrain News Agency (BNA) reported.
HM the King commended the professionalism and resolve of all BDF personnel, led by the Commander in Chief, in ensuring the Kingdom’s security, stability, and progress.
HM the King underlined that the devoted efforts of the BDF are valued and will continue to receive full support, as they reflect the deep rooted patriotism and high morale of Bahrain.
Following the meeting, HM the King hosted a luncheon in honour of the Commander in Chief and the senior officers.
For his part, the Commander-in-Chief of the Bahrain Defence Force (BDF) received Wednesday Vice Admiral Edward Ahlgren, UK Defence Senior Advisor to the Middle East and North Africa (DSAME), along with his accompanying delegation.
The meeting took place in the presence of Lieutenant General Abdullah bin Hassan Al Nuaimi, Minister of Defence Affairs, and Lieutenant General Theyab bin Saqr Al Nuaimi, Chief of Staff.
The Commander-in-Chief commended the strong historical relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the United Kingdom. He highlighted the importance of ongoing cooperation across various sectors, particularly in military coordination and the exchange of expertise.
Vice Admiral Ahlgren delivered a lecture during the visit, addressing the topic “Analysis of the War in Ukraine and Discussion of Lessons Learned.”
Earlier, the BDF Commander received Brigadier General Dr. Shaikh Fahad bin Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, the Commander of the Royal Medical Services (RMS).
The Commander-in-Chief commended the ongoing medical and therapeutic advancements of the RMS, as well as the continuous progress achieved by the BDF’s healthcare system.
