The 24th meeting of the Land Forces Commanders of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Armed Forces concluded Wednesday at the Bahrain Defense Force (BDF).

The GCC Land Forces Commanders; Major General Salman bin Ibrahim Al Fadhala, Assistant Secretary-General for Military Affairs at the GCC General Secretariat; Major General Abdulaziz bin Ahmed Al Balawi, Commander of the GCC Unified Military Command, attended the meeting.

The meeting addressed topics related to joint Gulf military cooperation in the field of land forces. Discussions focused on developing land forces and continuously enhancing their systems to improve combat efficiency and readiness.

Participants also discussed strengthening defense integration among GCC states to address various challenges, Bahrain News Agency (BNA) reported.

Earlier, Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Commander-in-Chief of the Bahrain Defence Force (BDF), conducted Tuesday an inspection visit to one of the BDF units, as part of his ongoing visits to various branches and units to review their combat readiness and military and administrative preparedness.

The Commander-in-Chief commended the care and support the BDF receives from His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, and the continued support and follow-up of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince.  Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces and Prime Minister.

Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed affirmed that this supports the BDF’s continued development and modernisation, enhances its capabilities and strengthens its combat readiness in line with the latest military practices and current challenges.

The Commander-in-Chief commended the high level of competence and strong national spirit demonstrated by BDF personnel, as well as their efforts in carrying out their duties and responsibilities with dedication and a strong sense of responsibility.

He further stressed the importance of maintaining the highest levels of vigilance, readiness and preparedness, and carrying out their duties and responsibilities efficiently and competently in defence of the homeland, protection of its achievements, and safeguarding its security and stability, amid the region’s rapidly evolving developments and challenges.
