His Excellency Mr. Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), visited the headquarters of the Unified Military Command (UMC) of the GCC states in Riyadh on Sunday.
His Excellency was received by Major General Abdulaziz Ahmed Al Balawi, Commander of the Unified Military Command, and several Senior Officers from across the GCC states.
During the visit, His Excellency Mr. Albudaiwi was briefed on the tasks and roles of the UMC in enhancing military integration and joint coordination among the GCC Armed Forces, contributing to the support of the joint Gulf security and defense system, the GCC’s General Secretariat said in a statement.
In his address to the Command’s personnel, Mr. Albudaiwi praised the significant and sincere efforts of the GCC Armed Forces members serving at the UMC. He expressed his pride in their professional conduct, which reflects the high standards of Gulf military cadres, underscoring that these efforts constitute a fundamental pillar for strengthening the security and stability of the Council states and solidifying the joint Gulf defense framework.
On this occasion, Mr. Albudaiwi also expressed his immense pride in the high level of efficiency and readiness demonstrated by the GCC armed forces. He lauded the high professionalism they displayed in countering the treacherous Iranian attacks that targeted the Council states, and their courageous defense of sovereignty and security.
He further underscored that the bravery and dedication shown by the men of the Gulf Armed Forces reflect the strength and cohesion of the GCC defense system in protecting the assets of the Council states and safeguarding the security and stability of their people.
His Excellency concluded by affirming that the UMC represents a vital pillar of joint Gulf military action. It reflects the keenness of Their Majesties and Highnesses, the leaders of the GCC states to advance military integration to achieve security and stability for the Council states and preserve their gains and achievements.
