Kuwait Airways and the Arab Open University in Kuwait have signed a joint cooperation protocol aimed at strengthening bilateral and strategic relations between the two parties.

Kuwait Airways Chairman, Captain Abdulmohsen Salem Al-Fagaan, the Director of the Arab Open University in Kuwait, Dr. Salah Saleh Al-Hammadi, attended the signing ceremony along with several officials from both sides.

The protocol aims to enhance the operational efficiency of the services provided to both parties, expand the scope of services and options, and promote the exchange of technical expertise to support the overall development of the aviation sector and institutional performance. It also seeks to facilitate the exchange of information in areas such as public relations, corporate communications, media, the academic sector, and technology, to serve the mutual interests of both parties.

Kuwait Airways Chairman, Captain Abdulmohsen Salem Al-Fagaan, stated: “Kuwait Airways is pleased to sign a joint cooperation protocol with the Arab Open University in Kuwait, one of the region’s leading educational institutions. This initiative comes as part of the national carrier of the State of Kuwait’s ongoing efforts to strengthen ties with various entities, and to build and reinforce bridges of cooperation and communication. Such collaborations contribute to enhancing relationships, improving, and developing the work environment for the benefit of all, and supporting the advancement of the country’s educational system.”

Al-Fagaan added that this cooperation encompasses several areas, including the support and sponsorship of major university events as a strategic partner, as well as the implementation of cooperative training and volunteer programs designed to support practical experience. He further noted that the agreement contributes to building an institutional partnership with a leading academic institution, thereby strengthening the company’s reputation and community presence.

Al-Fagaan highlighted that the protocol also includes sponsorship opportunities and a permanent presence at events, enhancing the brand’s presence among the youth and the academic community, Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) reported.

The agreement will provide specialized training programs for Kuwait Airways employees in collaboration with the university, covering areas such as management and leadership, information technology, digital transformation, languages, communication skills, accredited short programs for professional certifications, social responsibility and research projects in aviation management and smart services. Additionally, the partnership will support joint sustainability initiatives, including reducing carbon emissions and promoting green tourism.

Al-Fagaan commended the efforts of those in charge at the Arab Open University in Kuwait, headed by Dr. Salah Saleh Al-Hammadi, for their active cooperation in investing in and developing the future generations. He emphasized Kuwait Airways’ commitment to supporting the development and qualification of the country’s youth, highlighting that they are an integral part of Kuwaiti society. He added that the company continually strives to contribute to the nation’s progress and prosperity, to achieve its aspirations and desired goals.

Al-Fagaan concluded his statement by emphasizing that this protocol will strengthen relations between the two parties and between all educational institutions. He also extended his sincere thanks and appreciation to all officials for their efforts in making this protocol a success. Kuwait Airways has signed numerous agreements and partnerships over the years, contributing to the enhancement and development of various areas that add value to institutions and companies.

Dr. Salah Saleh Al-Hammadi, Director of the Arab Open University in Kuwait, stated: “We at the Arab Open University are pleased to sign this cooperation agreement with Kuwait Airways, which represents a strategic step in strengthening the partnership between higher education institutions and the national air transport sector. This agreement reflects the university’s commitment to supporting professional development and empowering national talent through specialized academic and training programs that align with labor market requirements.”

“We believe this cooperation will contribute to the exchange of expertise and knowledge between the two sides and open new opportunities for our students to benefit from training and practical application within a professional environment like Kuwait Airways. On this occasion, we affirm the university’s ongoing efforts to building partnerships with state institutions to achieve the objectives of sustainable development and Kuwait Vision 2035,” he added.
