Undersecretary of Kuwait’s Ministry of Interior, Major General Sheikh Salem Al-Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, emphasized that joint exercises between security and military agencies strengthen coordination among relevant authorities and help develop field capabilities to protect the nation’s security.
This statement came after the conclusion of the joint “Defender of the Nation 2” exercise, which was conducted in cooperation with the Ministry of Interior and the Kuwaiti Army on Failaka Island.
The exercise involved live ammunition, explosives, and simulation scenarios designed to address potential security challenges. Participating from the Ministry of Interior were the Special Security Forces Sector, including the General Department of Special Security Forces, the Security Armor Department, the Explosive Ordnance Disposal Department, the Special Units Department, and the Security and Control Department. The Kuwaiti Army’s 94th Armored Brigade also took part.
Sheikh Salem highlighted the importance of joint training between security and military agencies in bolstering the nation’s security and stability, Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) reported.
The goal of the exercise was to improve coordination and cooperation between the Ministry of Interior and the Kuwaiti Army, enhancing the readiness of participating forces to respond swiftly and effectively to various threats.
The event was attended by several security and military leaders, including Major General Abdullah Al-Mulla, Assistant Undersecretary for Special Security Affairs at the Ministry of Interior, and Colonel Baraq Al-Farhan, Commander of the 94th Armored Brigade of the Kuwaiti Army.
