Qatar’s Amir Awarded Prince Naif Medal for Arab Security of the Excellent Class

The Amir of Qatar His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani was awarded the Prince Naif Medal for Arab Security of the Excellent Class.

This comes in recognition of his wise policy in achieving security and stability which enhances the path of development and prosperity, his unwavering support for joint Arab security efforts, in recognition of Qatar’s outstanding success in securing the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, and the efforts to promote Arab and Islamic cultural values.

On behalf of HH the Amir, Minister of Interior and Commander of the Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya) HE Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani received the award during his meeting on Sunday with Secretary-General of the Arab Interior Ministers Council Dr. Mohammed bin Ali Koman, Qatar News Agency (QNA) reported.

During the 40th Arab Interior Ministers Council held in Tunisia, the Arab Interior Ministers decided to award HH the Amir with the Prince Nayef Medal for Arab Security of the Excellent Class.

In another development, the Qatari Minister of Interior also attended the certificate awarding ceremony at the Police Academy on Thursday.

Certificates were awarded at the event to the seventh batch of cadets from the Police College and the Ras Laffan Emergency and Safety College.

The Minister presented certificates to 136 graduates from the Police College, including cadets from Palestine, Iraq, and Somalia. Additionally, 11 graduates from the Ras Laffan Emergency and Safety College were honoured, including two cadets from Palestine.

During the ceremony, the Interior Minister honoured Deputy Commander of the Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya) and former member of the Supreme Council of the Police Academy Staff Major-General Mohammed Misfer Al Shahwani for his significant contributions to the Academy’s development during his tenure.

The ceremony, held at the Police Academy headquarters, was also attended by Minister of State for Interior Affairs HE Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Faisal bin Mohammed Al Thani, who presented certificates to the remaining graduates of both Colleges.
