General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Bahrain’s Minister of Interior, visited the Defence Medical Rehabilitation Centre (DMRC) in the United Kingdom, part of the broader Defence and National Rehabilitation Centre (DNRC) Programme.
The Minister was accompanied by Shaikh Fawaz bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Ambassador of Bahrain to the UK, and Major General Adel Ameen, Assistant Undersecretary for Human Resources.
General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah was received by Group Captain Claire Myhill KHDS RAF, Commanding Officer of DMRC, along with other officials, Bahrain News Agency (BNA) reported.
The DMRC Commanding Officer highlighted the strong Bahrain-UK ties and the shared commitment to fostering cooperation.
General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah highlighted the historical ties between the two countries, emphasising ongoing efforts to strengthen security cooperation, exchange expertise, and share experiences to advance mutual interests.
General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah underscored the Ministry of Interior’s commitment to providing comprehensive services to its personnel in recognition of their contributions and commitment to national security and public safety.
During the visit, the Minister was briefed on the DMRC’s advanced medical and rehabilitation resources.
The Minister also toured the prosthetics department, technological research facilities, and other sections of the Centre.
General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah commended the Centre’s expertise, advanced capabilities, and adherence to internationally recognised medical and rehabilitation standards.
The Minister expressed appreciation to the Centre’s management for their distinguished services and emphasised the importance of strengthening cooperation and sharing rehabilitation expertise.
