The Emir of Qatar His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani patronized the graduation ceremony of the sixth batch of candidate students of the Police College, affiliated with the Police Academy, in Al Sailiya on Thursday.
The graduation ceremony was attended by Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani and a number of Sheikhs and Ministers. Earlier, HH the Amir inaugurated the Police Academy building, Qatar News Agency (QNA) reported.
Qatar’s Minister of State for Interior Affairs HE Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Faisal Al-Thani viewed the graduation of the sixth batch of students at the Police College as a continuation of the college’s distinguished contribution to qualifying human cadres in accordance with the requirements of contemporary security work.
On the occasion of this graduation ceremony, the Minister expressed happiness with the graduation of this group of individuals from the country who are candidates for the sixth batch at the Police College. He highlighted the College’s commitment to excellence at all levels by following the best academic and training methods and programs at the international level of Police Colleges.
He noted that the graduates of the Police College are distinguished by their high academic and physical qualifications, enabling them to work in various security fields. This is a result of carefully developed educational and training programs implemented by distinguished cadres.
The Minister further highlighted that current security work faces many challenges due to the development and variety of crimes. This necessitates upgrading rehabilitation and training programs, which the Police Academy adopts in its various colleges and institutes..
For his part, Director of Public Security HE Major-General Abdullah Mohammed Al Suwaidi said: “The Police College offers high-level training programs, which reflect on the performance of its graduates”.
Speaking on the sidelines of the graduation ceremony, Suwaidi said the graduates of the Police College are remarkably competent, which is evident in the performance of officers from previous batches, thanks to the police sciences and high-level training programs that the college provides.
He expressed happiness at the joining of a distinguished group of people from the country to work in the various departments of the Ministry of Interior to be an aid and support to their fellow officers, and to work hard to combat crime and provide outstanding security services.
Suwaidi added that the Ministry of Interior, represented by all its departments, is very keen on developing security work and paying attention to human resources.
He noted that the establishment of the Police College and then the Police Academy came with the aim of qualifying and graduating competent, skilled and highly qualified Officers in security work, stressing that a lot is expected from the new batch of Officers. He expressed confidence that they will live up to the responsibilities that will be placed upon them.
