Oman’s Interior Minister Receives Interpol President

Sayyid Hamoud Faisal Al Busaidi, Minister of Interior received in his office Tuesday Major General Dr. Ahmed Naser Al Raisi, President of the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol).

During the meeting, the two sides reviewed security efforts undertaken by the Interpol on the international level. They also discussed several matters of mutual interest, Oman News Agency (ONA) reported.

The meeting was attended by Eng. Khalid Hilal Al Busaidi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior, Major General Abdullah Ali Harthy, Assistant Inspector General of Police and Customs for Operations and Brigadier Jamal Habib Al Quraishi, Director General of Intelligence and Criminal Investigation at the Royal Oman Police (ROP).

For his part, Major General Abdullah Ali Al Harthy also separately received Tuesday the visiting President of the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol) and his accompanying delegation.

The two sides discussed ways of enhancing cooperation. They also exchanged views and experiences between the Royal Oman Police (ROP) and the Interpol.

The guest and his accompanying delegation also visited the ROP’s General Department of Criminal Investigation. During the visit they were briefed on the work mechanisms followed by the National Central Bureau “Interpol Muscat” and its role in collecting, analyzing and publishing data on criminal crimes at the level of member states.
