President of the Oversight and Anti-Corruption Authority ‘Nazaha’ Mazin bin Ibrahim Al-Kahmous recently visited the headquarters of the International Criminal Police Organization ‘INTERPOL’ in Lyon, France.

Upon his arrival, he was received by the Secretary-General of INTERPOL, Jürgen Stock, and senior members of the organization, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.

During the visit, the two sides discussed several topics of common interest, including aspects of cooperation between Nazaha and INTERPOL in the field of combating corruption and cross-border crimes, enhancing aspects of cooperation with relevant international organizations within regional and international frameworks and agreements, and discussing the challenges associated with combating corruption crimes.

The discussions also touched on issues related to recovering funds and assets related to corruption cases, pursuing fugitive defendants in corruption cases, and cooperating to retrieve them and bring them before justice.

The visit comes in response to the invitation of the Secretary-General of INTERPOL to the President of Nazaha to discuss measures undertaken by the organization in combating corruption crimes and the movement of illicit funds and their recovery.

Nazaha is a Saudi governmental anti-corruption agency. The main objective of Nazaha is to promote integrity and transparency and fight all forms of corruption in the administrative and financial domains.
