Bahrain’s Interior Minister Receives Director-General of Saudi Border Guard

Bahrain’s Interior Minister, General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa (photo), received Saudi Director-General of Border Guard and Chairman of the Permanent National Committee for Maritime Disasters, Major-General Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Shehri.

Chief of Public Security and Chairman of the National Disaster Management Committee, Lt-General Tariq Al Hassan, attended the meeting, Bahrain News Agency (BNA) reported.

The Interior Minister welcomed the Saudi official and his accompanying delegation. He hailed historical ties between the two countries under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.

The Interior Minister asserted the importance of promoting joint efforts, security cooperation and exchange of expertise between the Saudi Border Guard and Bahrain Coast Guard to reinforce maritime safety. He highlighted that the Coast Guard had been equipped with the latest technologies and training systems to ensure a safe maritime environment.

In addition, the meeting reviewed topics pertaining to promoting joint work procedures and maritime safety.

In another development, Commander-in-Chief of the Bahrain Defence Force (BDF), Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, carried out Wednesday an inspection visit to a BDF unit.

The BDF Chief was informed about the unit’s achievements, efforts to enhance combat and administrative readiness, as well as training and rehabilitation programs.

He stressed the importance of concerted efforts to develop the unit, urging everyone to be more dedicated in order to improve the performance level and administrative quality.

He gave directives to improve work level, wishing everyone further success in carrying out their patriotic duties for the best interests of the BDF, under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the Supreme Commander.

Meanwhile. Bahrain Defence Force (BDF) also held Wednesday a graduation ceremony for a specialised foundation session for Officers.

The ceremony was attended by Assistant Chief of Staff for Operations, Major General Ghanim Ibrahim Al Fadhala.

A briefing was given on the session. Then, the Assistant Chief of Staff for Operations presented the graduates and top achievers with certificates and prizes of appreciation.

The graduation ceremony was attended by Military Training Director Major General Salah Rashid Al-Sa’ad, and BDF Senior Officers.
