The Sultanate of Oman celebrated Wednesday the anniversary of 11th of December (The Armed Forces Day).
This eternal day in the glorious Omani history came in appreciation of the great sacrifices made by the citizens of Oman in defending their dear homeland.
On this occasion, the Sultan’s Armed Forces (SAF) organized celebrations expressing pride and gratitude for the achievements of this glorious day, Oman News Agency (ONA) reported.
This day also expresses the progress and prosperity achieved by the Sultanate during the blessed renaissance years led by His Majesty Sultan Qaboos Bin Said, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces. This day also highlights security and stability enjoyed by the Sultanate, as well as the development and modernization experienced by SAF in various fields.
The 11th Infantry Brigade and the Firaq Forces at the Royal Army of Oman (RAO) marked the Armed Forces Day under the patronage of Yousef bin Alawi bin Abdullah, Minister Responsible for Foreign Affairs.
The ceremony, which was held at the Firaq Forces Command in the Governorate of Dhofar, began by playing the Royal Anthem and military salute to the chief guest.
The ceremony included different performances that highlight the development and modernization adopted by the RAO in all forms and units to sustain the level of readiness to its personnel, stemming from the Royal insight of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos Bin Said, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces.
The chief guest pinned long-service and good conduct medals on personnel at 11th Infantry Brigade and the Firaq Forces of the RAO in appreciation of their sincere efforts and dedication in carrying out the sacred national duty.
The ceremony was attended by a number of honorable members of the State Council and undersecretaries, commander of the 11th Infantry Brigade, senior officers and officers of the Sultan’s Armed Forces (SAF) and other security departments, 11th Infantry Brigade and Firaq Forces personnel.
For its part, Musandam Sector Command at the Royal Army of Oman (RAO) also held a celebration on the occasion of the Armed Forces Day under the patronage of Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed al- Saidi, Minister of Legal Affairs.
The ceremony, which was organized at the Musandam Sector Command HQs, began by playing the Royal Anthem and military salute to the chief guest. Then, the RAO Music Band played various military musical pieces marking the occasion.

The ceremony was attended by Sayyid Ibrahim bin Said al Busaidi, Minister of the State and Governor of Musandam, some judges, walis, Musandam Sector Commander, senior officers and officers of the Sultan’s Armed Forces (SAF) and other security departments, sheikhs and dignitaries.
