HH the Amir of Kuwait Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, accompanied by HH the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah and HH the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Al-Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, visited Tuesday the Ministry of Defense and Kuwait National Guard to convey Ramadan greetings and commend personnel for their service.

At the Defense Ministry, HH the Amir praised the Armed Forces for protecting the nation by land, sea and air, stressing the importance of advancing the 2025-2030 strategic plan to modernize defense systems and strengthen institutional performance.

He highlighted achievements in international cooperation, joint operations and technology transfer, as well as the inauguration of the Nayef Light Ammunition Factory. He also commended the integration of women into the Armed Forces, including the enrollment of female university graduates, and called for surprise field inspections to ensure readiness, maintenance and infrastructure development.

His Highness also visited the Kuwait National Guard (KNG) on Monday evening. He was received by KNG Chief Sheikh Mubarak Humoud Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Deputy Chief Sheikh Faisal Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and Undersecretary Major General Hamad Salem Al-Barjas, Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) reported.

His Highness noted that since its establishment by the late Sheikh Salem Al-Ali Al-Salem Al-Sabah, the KNG has proven to be an impregnable shield and a reliable support to the nation and its institutions, defending the homeland, safeguarding its resources and reinforcing security and stability.

The Amir praised the Guard’s recent achievements across various fields, including comprehensive training programs and exercises, as well as its national role in supporting state institutions. He directed KNG leadership to maintain continuous oversight of units and conduct surprise field inspections to reinforce discipline and responsibility, evaluate operational efficiency, review work mechanisms and ensure full readiness - particularly with regard to weapons maintenance and helicopter flight training.

He also underscored the importance of adopting advanced technologies, upgrading specialized centers in line with international standards and harnessing artificial intelligence to enhance operational capabilities. He called for strengthening the efficiency of monitoring and control systems to bolster national security, while expanding cooperation and joint training initiatives with friendly countries.

His Highness also met with the personnel of the Ministry of Interior on Tuesday. Addressing the Ministry’s staff, HH emphasized that security is the cornerstone of state strength and societal stability, noting that the Ministry of Interior is at the forefront of enforcing law and order.

His Highness the Amir also praised the Ministry for its recent achievements, including receiving awards from the General Secretariat of Arab Interior Ministers Council for Arab and international cooperation, in recognition of its coordinated efforts in combating narcotics across the region.

His Highness lauded the Ministry’s coordination with relevant authorities and legislative improvements, including the implementation of a new traffic law and an updated anti-drug law providing a comprehensive regulatory and punitive framework. He also highlighted advancements in security systems, such as the launch of AI-based smart patrols, the development of land border surveillance systems, and the operation of remotely controlled maritime vessels within the Coast Guard fleet.

He further stressed the importance of strengthening regional and international partnerships to address shared challenges, improve security coordination, exchange expertise, and support joint Gulf security initiatives.

Lastly, His Highness the Amir visited the Kuwait Fire Force (KFF) on Tuesday where he was received by First Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Fahad Yusuf Saud Al-Sabah and KFF Chief Major General Talal Al-Roumi.

His Highness the Amir expressed appreciation to sincere efforts exerted by the KFF to save lives and protect property to ensure a safe life of society based on loyalty and responsibility. His Highness the Amir also commended the KFF personnel for continued human development through an education and training system and empowering women.

His Highness appreciated boosting cooperation between the state’s military and security institutions and developing partnerships with public and private bodies. His Highness the Amir valued the steps made to support the Kuwait’s leading status in safety and security fields, praising the “International Commander Medal” given by the International Civil Defense Organization to Sheikh Fahad Al-Yusuf.

His Highness also asked KFF officials and personnel to raise digital awareness and intensify field tours of stores and facilities to spread the culture of protection and safety. In addition, His Highness the Amir asked the KFF officials to enhance the foreign training program, and regional and international collaboration as well as keep updated on the latest technical and military developments.
