Kuwaiti Chief of the General Staff, Lieutenant General Khaled Al-Shuraiaan, met on Thursday with Jordanian Armed Forces Chief of the Joint Staff, Major General Yousef Al-Huneiti, to discuss issues of mutual interest, with a focus on enhancing and developing military cooperation between the two brotherly countries.

The General Staff said in a press statement that the meeting took place during Major General Al-Huneiti’s official visit to Kuwait during which he was received by Lieutenant General Al-Shuraiaan and his accompanying delegation.

The statement added that the Kuwaiti and Jordanian Chiefs visited the Mubarak Al-Abdullah Joint Command and Staff College, where they received a detailed briefing on the College’s role in preparing and qualifying military leaders, Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) reported.

The briefing covered its academic and training programs, designed to develop leadership skills and enhance the operational efficiency of officers. The meeting was attended by the Ambassador of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to Kuwait, Sinan Al-Majali; several members of the Military Defense Council; Senior Officers from both countries; and the Jordanian Military Attaché to Kuwait, Brigadier General Radwan Adibat.

Lt. General Al-Shuraiaan affirmed the Kuwaiti Army’s keenness to expand avenues of military cooperation with the Jordanian Armed Forces, particularly in developing defense capabilities and boosting joint coordination, Petra news agency reported.

For his part, Major General Al-Huneiti emphasized the importance of advancing the strategic partnership in a way that supports shared visions and goals, praising the strong bilateral relations between the leaderships of the two brotherly countries and their role in promoting regional security and stability.

In another development, Chairman of the Jordanian Joint Chiefs of Staff received Sunday the Chief of Staff of the Japan Self-Defense Forces, General Hiroaki Uchikura, and his accompanying delegation at the General Command headquarters.

The two sides discussed prospects for military cooperation between the armed forces of both countries, particularly in training and expertise exchange, in addition to regional and international issues of mutual interest.

The delegation was briefed on operational and humanitarian efforts carried out by the Jordan Armed Forces across various domains, including its role in supporting Palestinians in Gaza by delivering relief, medical, and food assistance, as well as its missions in bolstering regional security.

The briefings also included an overview of existing joint training programs and ways to enhance them through combined exercises and specialized courses to bolster operational readiness and broaden the scope of expertise exchange.

Al-Huneiti affirmed the depth of Jordanian-Japanese relations, noting that the defense partnership serves as a model for developing joint capabilities and supporting international efforts to enhance security and stability.

For his part, Uchikura praised the Jordan Armed Forces’ role in supporting regional security and providing humanitarian assistance, stressing Japan’s keenness to continue strengthening military cooperation, particularly in training and expertise exchange.
