The 67th symposium of the Committee for Unifying Military Terms and Concepts took place in Cairo, with Kuwait among the participating nations. The symposium focused on the role of the Armed Forces in standardizing methods and procedures for joint Arab military operations.

Opening the session, Director of the Military Department at the Arab League, Minister Plenipotentiary Tariq Abdul Salam, highlighted that “the challenges facing Arab national security are no longer traditional but have become more complex and diverse, as we face cross-border terrorist threats,” Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) reported.

He added that, amid escalating cyber threats and regional interventions, the highest levels of coordination and cooperation are essential in military planning. Abdul Salam affirmed that the Arab Affairs and National Security Sector of the Arab League General Secretariat, represented by the Military Department, will continue to support and sponsor such meetings and symposia, expressing hope that the symposium achieves its objectives.

Brigadier General Thawab Al-Qahtani, Head of the Qatari delegation and Chair of the current session, expressed optimism that the study on the role of the armed forces in unifying joint Arab military procedures would be completed by building on previous studies and modern software tools.

He noted that the previous symposium had successfully reviewed and approved military terms, concepts, symbols, and abbreviations developed in earlier sessions, attributing the achievement to collective efforts and cooperation.

Kuwait is represented at the symposium by a delegation from the Military Education Authority, headed by Colonel Mohammed Al-Asousi, and including Colonel Mohammed Al-Qahtani, Colonel Abdul Karim Al-Ibrahim, and Major Mohammed Al-Khayat.
