The Saudi Ministry of Defense has announced the launch of its military scholarship program to elite international military colleges under a renewed vision, aimed at attracting outstanding high school graduates to prepare qualified officers according to the highest international standards.

The program sends 250 students annually for five years to 21 universities, academies, and military colleges across nine countries: the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Spain, Italy, Republic of Korea, Australia, Japan, and China.

The program is based on three pillars: military and academic qualification, development of leadership and decision-making skills, and building a clear career path that enhances readiness and professionalism.

Having enrolled thousands of talented students since its inception, the program is now relaunched under a renewed vision aligned with the ministry's future aspirations, contributing to the development of leadership capabilities and the readiness of the Armed Forces, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.

In another development, Chief of Kuwait’s National Guard Sheikh Mubarak Hamoud Al-Jaber Al-Sabah attended earlier this week the swearing-in ceremony of a number of newly commissioned officers who graduated from King Khalid Military College in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, marking the start of their military service.

The ceremony was also attended by National Guard Undersecretary Lt General Hamad Al-Barjas, the National Guard said in a statement.

Sheikh Mubarak congratulated the officers on their graduation and welcomed them to the National Guard, expressing confidence that they would contribute to the institution’s continued success by applying the knowledge and skills they acquired during their studies.

He urged the new officers to translate their academic achievements and field training into practical performance within their military units, stressing the importance of discipline, professionalism and responsibility. He also called on them to devote themselves to serving and defending the nation and safeguarding Kuwait’s security and stability. (Sources: SPA; Kuwait’s National Guard/KUNA; Photo © SeekLogo)
