The National Geospatial Academy of Saudi Arabia, in collaboration with the University of Melbourne, launched its first specialized training program, Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS), as part of a series of advanced training programs delivered in partnership with one of the world’s leading universities specializing in geospatial sciences.

The program attracted more than 337 participants representing over 50 government, private-sector, and academic organizations, in addition to specialists from Iraq, Oman, the United Arab Emirates, and Australia, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.

Through its partnership with the University of Melbourne, the Academy aims to develop national capabilities, enhance specialized expertise, and localize international knowledge and best practices in global navigation satellite systems and geodesy.

The collaboration also highlights the latest applications and technologies related to positioning systems and the development of geospatial reference frameworks, supporting improved performance in national geospatial projects.

The National Geospatial Academy (NGA) in Saudi Arabia is a leading educational initiative launched to develop the Kingdom’s geospatial capabilities and localize international knowledge.

NGA trains experts in spatial data, satellite navigation, and geographic information systems (GIS) to support Saudi Vision 2030.

The Academy offers specialized programs in fields like Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS), remote sensing, and disaster mapping.
