The Assistant Chief of Staff of the Iraqi Army for Training, Major General of Special Forces Staff, Ghalib Muhammad Kamar, conducted an inspection visit to the Chemical Corps School, the First Chemical Defense Battalion and the Chemical Warehouse.
Kamar was accompanied by a number of staff officers of the department to follow up on the progress of the training and educational process and the implementation of the items of the Iraqi Army Training Bulletin for the year 2026.
He was received by the Director of the Chemical Corps and a number of staff officers, where he listened to briefings on the progress of the courses and training programs, inspected the units’ departments and reviewed the level of performance and readiness, the Iraqi Ministry of Defense said in a statement.
Kamar stressed the importance of developing the capabilities of the chemical weapons personnel, raising the level of training and professionalism, paying attention to physical fitness and military discipline, as well as implementing training exercises according to the established plans, and providing the administrative and service requirements for the fighters.
At the end of the visit, he praised the efforts made, expressing his thanks and appreciation to the leadership of the unit and its members, wishing them continued success and prosperity.
Meanwhile, On Tuesday, the Chief of Staff of the Iraqi Army, Lieutenant General Abdul Amir Rashid Yarallah, received on Tuesday the Commander of the Combined Joint Task Force (Operation Inherent Resolve) in Iraq and Syria, Admiral Liam Hollen, and his accompanying delegation.
The Director of Public Relations and Affairs, and the Secretary of Intelligence for the Army Chief of Staff were both present.
At the beginning of the meeting, His Excellency welcomed the guests, and then the two sides discussed and enhanced aspects of joint cooperation in the military field at the level of armament, training and providing logistical support; to develop the capabilities of the Iraqi army in a way that ensures its readiness and preparedness to face all challenges.
For his part, Admiral Liam Hollin affirmed the continuation of cooperation and coordination between the two sides to develop the capabilities and capacities of the army in all areas and to strengthen efforts aimed at keeping pace with modern methods in order to serve the military establishment.
