The Commander of the Iraqi Ground Forces, Lieutenant General Qassim Mohammed Al-Muhammadi, inspected last week the Iraqi Staff College. He was received by the College Commander and members of the teaching staff.
The visit aimed to discuss and review plans for implementing joint exercises between the Ground Forces and the Staff College, with the goal of enhancing the combat and training performance of the valiant Iraqi Army.
It is noteworthy that the Staff College holds great importance as a vital institution that provides the armed forces with qualified leadership officers trained to the highest standards, reflecting its crucial role in strengthening the Army’s capabilities and safeguarding national security.
Meanwhile, the Army Chief of Staff, General Abdul Amir Rashid Yarallah, visited the Staff College of the Defense University for Military Studies at Al-Rustamiyah Camp to follow up on preparations for the Golden Falcon exercise. He was received by the Deputy Chiefs of Operations and Training, the Commander of the Ground Forces, the Deans of the Colleges, and a number of staff officers.
Upon arrival, the Army Chief of Staff was briefed by the Dean of the Staff College, who presented a detailed overview of the preparations, arrangements, and directives related to the exercise, including all its details and timelines, the Iraqi Ministry of Defense said in a statement.
Afterward, the Chief conducted an inspection tour of the classrooms in the Ground Forces Command Training Wing to review the latest preparations for the exercise and monitor the setup of the sand table.
Lastly, as part of the Ministry of Defense’s efforts to enhance Iraq’s presence in international military forums, the Iraqi Military Attaché to Pakistan, Colonel Engineer Staff Ahmad Abdullah Jasim, attended the closing ceremony of the United Nations Military Observers Course (UNMOC-44).
The course was organized by the Center for International Peace and Stability (CIPS) of the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) in Islamabad from 6 to 17 October 2025.
The course aimed to qualify participating officers to serve as military observers in international peacekeeping missions through specialized training on field observation, conflict management, and international coordination.
A total of 38 officers from various countries participated, including Lieutenant Abdul Rahman Saud Aziz representing the Iraqi Armed Forces, who demonstrated outstanding performance that earned the appreciation of the center’s administration and trainers.
The Iraqi Military Attaché commended the Iraqi officers’ participation, emphasizing that such engagements contribute to developing the capabilities of Iraqi officers and strengthening Iraq’s presence in international military forums. (Source & Photo © Iraq’s Ministry of Defense)
